Photography is a powerful medium of art. In today's world of photography, a lot of complex equipments along with the state-of-the-art technologies behind those equipments are always involved into making an image, but a successful image ultimately comes from the photographer's heart.
Fine art photography is all about the image maker's ideas, visions and emotions. Difference between a technically perfect photograph and an appealing piece of art is defined by the light captured, the sense of a place and the story as seen and presented by the photographer. As a photographer, my aim is to touch the light that shows us the world around us in a way so that it tells the story of the place and captures the emotions that I felt.
Nature and travel photography is my passion, but my skill and experience extend beyond that – into portrait and commercial. I have been in freelance photography for a while and live in the beautiful Hudson Valley area in upstate NY.
I started photography at a very early age as a sidebar to my outdoor activities – climbing, high altitude mountaineering and nature explorations. Over time, photography has become the passion, while my outdoor and travel activities keep me feeding the opportunities for photography. So, this website is always “in the making” – as I explore my vision and the stories of the world with my camera and make new images. Please check back often and never hesitate to contact me with questions or comments.
I exclusively use Nikon digital SLR cameras and lenses. I will add some guides and how-to articles to this site to demonstrate my workflow and style.
All the photos presented in this website are available as fine art prints (more information here). I donate most of the profit that I make from the print sales on this website to various non-profits dedicated to preserve our natural surroundings (e.g. Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, etc.) – it is my way to giving back something to the nature. If you buy any prints here, you will also be part of that effort. I also offer small workshops and tutorial (in NY tri-state area), accept photography assignments and sell images as stock photos – please contact me for more info.
